Teixobactin is a potent antibiotic. Teixobactin shows antibacterial activity for gram-negative bacteria. Teixobactin inhibits cell wall synthesis by binding to a highly conserved motif of lipid II and lipid III.

Activité biologique
Teixobactin (0-128 µg/mL) shows antibacterial activity with a MIC value of 0.25 µg/mL for MRSA ATCC 33591[2].
Teixobactin (0-24 h) shows antibacterial activity with MIC values of 5, 20 ng/mL for Clostridium difficile, Bacillus anthracis, respectively[3].
