Hydroxyproline-13C
Hydroxyproline-13C is the 13C-labeled Hydroxyproline (HY-W343900). Hydroxyproline (DL-Hydroxyproline) is a non-essential amino acid and one of the main components of collagenous tissues. Hydroxyproline acts as a substrate for mitochondrial hydroxyproline oxidase to generate ROS. Hydroxyproline promotes the synthesis of glutathione, DNA, heme and proteins via conversion to Glycine (HY-Y0966). Hydroxyproline promotes the activation of caspase-9 and apoptosis in cancer cells treated with Doxorubicin. Hydroxyproline serves as a biochemical marker. Hydroxyproline is used in research related to various diseases including colon cancer, diabetes and arthritis.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
Application
1. This compound can be used as a tracer
2. This compound can be used as an internal standard for quantitative analysis by NMR, GC-MS, or LC-MS.
