Trifluoperazine dimaleate
Based on 10 publication(s) in Google Scholar
Trifluoperazine dimaleate, an antipsychotic agent, acts by blocking central dopamine receptors. Trifluoperazine dimaleate is a potent α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist. Trifluoperazine dimaleate is a potent NUPR1 inhibitor exerting anticancer activity. Trifluoperazine dimaleate is a calmodulin inhibitor, and also inhibits P-glycoprotein. Trifluoperazine dimaleate can be used for the research of schizophrenia. Trifluoperazine dimaleate acts as a reversible inhibitor of influenza virus morphogenesis.

Description
In Vitro
Trifluoperazine dimaleate is a long-established, widely used 'conventional' antipsychotic agent. Trifluoperazine dimaleate has been an extensively studied drug molecule that has been used as a calmodulin inhibitor[3][4].
Trifluoperazine dimaleate acts as a reversible inhibitor of influenza virus morphogenesis, but not budding, by disturbing cellular CaM and/or CaM-dependent functions[5].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Effects of TFP‐2HCl (Trifluoperazine dihydrochloride, 2 mg/kg) and SCH772984 on hyperlocomotion induced by acute METH. TFP‐2HCl (Trifluoperazine dihydrochloride) and SCH772984 could inhibit METH‐induced hyperactivity.

Administration of 2 mg/kg TFP‐2HCl (Trifluoperazine dihydrochloride) and 10 mg/kg SCH772984 before METH significantly inhibited the increase in CPP score of the METH group (p < 0.01 and p < 0.05, respectively). CPP scores of the groups injected with 2 mg/kg TFP‐2HCl and 10 mg/kg SCH772984 prior to METH were not significantly different from those of the control group.
