Antiangiogenic agent 10 is a potent orally active antiangiogenic agent with antiproliferative activity against breast cancer cells. Antiangiogenic agent 10 induces apoptosis via caspase-3 activation. Antiangiogenic agent 10 can be used for the research of breast cancer[1].

In Vitro

Antiangiogenic agent 10 (compound 10a) (1-100 μM; 24 h) inhibits the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells with an IC50 of 28.77 μM and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells with an IC50 of 32.34 μM[1].
Antiangiogenic agent 10 (1-100 μM; 24 h) activates caspase-3 and promoting apoptosis in MCF-7 breast cancer cells[1].

In Vivo

Antiangiogenic agent 10 (compound 10a) (5-2000 mg/kg; i.g.; single dose) has an LD50 value greater than 2000 mg/kg in female Wistar rats[1].

Animal Model: Wistar Rats (female, 180-230 g)[1]
Dosage: 5; 50; 300; 2000 mg/kg
Administration: i.g.; single dose
Result: Showed no mortality across all doses over 14 days.
Caused hard abdomen and periodic body stretching in the first 48 hours at the 2000 mg/kg dose.
Induced dose-dependent weight loss: final mean body weight was 195 g at 5 mg/kg, 197 g at 50 mg/kg, 180 g at 300 mg/kg, 175 g at 2000 mg/kg.
Showed no significant changes in food or water consumption.
