Aristolactam A II
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Aristolactam A II (Aristololactam A II) is a weak COX inhibitor with cytotoxic and anti-plasmodial activities. Aristolactam A II exhibits inhibitory activity against Chloroquine (HY-17589A)-sensitive strains, and exerts its inhibitory effect on Plasmodium falciparum growth by inducing cell membrane damage marked by LDH release. Aristolactam A II can be applied to the research of malaria-related mechanisms.

Aristolactam A II inhibits the growth of chloroquine-sensitive Plasmodium falciparum strain 3D7, with an IC50 of 28 μM at 72 h[1].
Aristolactam A II (2.5-160 mg/mL; 24-72 h) induces time- and dose-dependent cytotoxicity in HK-2 cells, with IC50 values of 97.22 mg/mL, 74.15 mg/mL, and 44.06 mg/mL at 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h, respectively[2].
Aristolactam A II (2.5-160 mg/mL; 24 h) causes concentration-dependent cell membrane damage to HK-2 cells, which can be detected by increased LDH release[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Cell Line:human proximal tubular epithelial HK-2 cells
-
Concentration:2.5-160 mg/mL
-
Incubation Time:24 h
-
Result:Caused a significant concentration-dependent increase in LDH release (p < 0.05), indicating cell membrane damage.
Showed a higher LDH release rate than cepharanone B, indicating greater cell membrane damage and stronger cytotoxicity relative to that compound.
