CAS No.: 161401-82-7
Synonyms: Z-VAD(OH)-FMK
Z-VAD-FMK is a pan-caspase inhibitor and also an ICE-like protease inhibitor, which inhibits apoptosis by preventing the processing of CPP32 to its active form. Z-VAD-FMK sensitivity varies primarily due to differential expression of receptor-interacting protein 1 (RIP1). Z-VAD-FMK limits the cryopreservation-induced apoptosis by reducing caspase-3 activity of in vitro produced bovine embryos. Z-VAD-FMK is immunosuppressive in vitro and inhibits T cell proliferation without blocking the processing of caspase-8 and caspase-3. Z-VAD-FMK leads to a decrease in intracellular glutathione (GSH) with a concomitant increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in activated T cells. Z-VAD-FMK is due to oxidative stress via the depletion of GSH. Z-VAD-FMK can be used for the study of acute pancreatitis .

Fosamprenavir is an orally active inhibitor targeting HIV-1 protease and is a prodrug of Amprenavir (HY-17430). Fosamprenavir is hydrolyzed into Amprenavir (VX-478) by cell phosphatases in the intestinal epithelium. Amprenavir binds to the active site of HIV-1 protease, preventing the processing of viral gag and gag-pol polyprotein precursors, thereby inhibiting the formation of mature infectious virus particles and exerting anti-HIV-1 infection activity. Fosamprenavir can be used for the study of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection .

Human Cathepsin S (CTSS) is a cysteine protease with elastinolytic activity. Human Cathepsin S is inhibited by cysteine protease inhibitors such as E-64 (HY-15282) and cystatin C. Human Cathepsin S cleaves substrates including elastin, TGF-β1, Myelin basic protein (HY-P1821), PAR2, SIRT1, collagen 18A1, FKN, and MHC-II invariant chain fragments, thereby driving processes such as elastic matrix degradation, TGF-β1 signaling, demyelination, PAR2-mediated calcium mobilization, NF-κB activation, hepatic fibrosis, immune homeostasis regulation, and antigen presentation. Human Cathepsin S can be used in the research of cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney diseases, autoimmune diseases, tumors, Alzheimer's disease, and obesity .

Proteinase, Aspergillus oryzae is a serine protease that hydrolyzes peptide bonds in protein substrates, preferring alkaline conditions (optimal pH 10.5). It efficiently degrades casein, poly-L-glutamic acid, and poly-L-lysine, with activity irreversibly inhibited by diisopropylfluorophosphate (DFP) and potato inhibitor. This enzyme catalyzes proteolysis via serine residues in its active site, finding applications in food processing (e.g., soy sauce fermentation), detergents, and leather industries due to its high yield in solid-state fermentation and cost-effective production.

Pomotrelvir is a selective, competitive, orally active covalent inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 main protease (M pro), with an IC50 of 24 nM for wild-type SARS-CoV-2 M pro. Pomotrelvir inhibits viral polyprotein processing, thereby preventing viral replication. Pomotrelvir has shown broad antiviral activity against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants (including Omicron) in cell-based experiments, and has an additive effect when combined with nucleoside analogs that target viral RNA synthesis. Pomotrelvir is primarily used for the research and development of COVID-19 antiviral drugs, especially for infections caused by SARS-CoV-2 and its variants .

Trypsin/Lys-C complex protease (MS grade) combines Trypsin and Lys-C, two recombinant proteases, to achieve efficient peptide bond hydrolysis. Trypsin specifically cleaves the C-terminal peptide bonds of arginine (R) and lysine (K), while Lys-C specifically cleaves the C-terminal peptide bonds of lysine (K). This combination overcomes issues such as the slower digestion rate of lysine and arginine by rTrypsin, PTM changes on lysine, or hydrophobic C-termini (such as proline) that can lead to missed cleavage. Trypsin/Lys-C complex protease (MS grade) can be used to process complex protein samples that are difficult to enzymatically digest. Trypsin/Lys-C complex protease (MS grade) can be used for protein characterization, single-cell proteomics and large cohort proteomics studies.

RNase A (Bovine pancreatic RNase) is a widely used Endonuclease in DNA purification by specifically hydrolyzing cytosine or uracil residues of RNA. RNase A degrades the RNA in the RNA/DNA duplex. RNase A catalyses the breakdown of 3',5'-phosphodiester linkages of single stranded RNA. RNase A family members in organisms are tightly involved in various physiological and pathological processes including cell growth and development, proliferation, differentiation and migration. Dysregulation of RNase A activity or expression level is closely related to pancreatic, ovarian, bladder and thyroid cancer. RNase A has tumor cell-killing ability. RNase A (DNase & Protease Free), Recombinant is recombinant RNase A, which does not contain DNase and protease .
