N-Methylmesoporphyrin IX (NMM), a widely used G-quadruplex DNA specific fluorescent binder, is an efficient probe for monitoring Aβ fibrillation. N-Methylmesoporphyrin IX is an in situ inhibitor and an ex situ monitor for Aβ amyloidogenesis both in vitro and in cells. N-Methylmesoporphyrin IX is sensitive to G-quadruplexes DNA but has no response to duplexes, triplexes and single-stranded forms DNA. N-Methylmesoporphyrin IX is nonfluorescent alone or in monomeric Aβ environments, but emits strong fluorescence through stacking with the Aβ assemblies.

HMBR is an analogue with an additional methyl group on the aromatic ring and is non-fluorescent. HMBR conjugated with Y-FAST emits yellow fluorescence under blue light excitation (Ex= 419 nm; Em= 525–539 nm). HMBR is non-toxic to zebrafish embryos. HMBR has high cell permeability.

EC-17 disodium salt is a folate receptor alpha (FRα) targeting contrast agent with fluorescent properties in the visible light spectrum. The EC-17 maximum excitation and emission wavelengths are 490 nm and 520 nm, respectively.

TOR-G4 exhibits a unique fluorescence lifetime when bound to G4 compared to other structures, enabling sensitive discrimination between G4-bound and non-G4-bound states. TOR-G4 mainly colocalizes with RNA in the cytoplasm and nucleolus. TOR-G4 can be used to investigate the roles of RNA G4 in cells. TOR-G4 shows cytotoxicity against osteosarcoma cells.

Alizarin Red S sodium is an anthraquinone derivative dye. When combined with cations such as calcium ions, the functional group of Alizarin Red S sodium can form a coordination bond with the cation through the oxygen atom to show orange-red fluorescence. Alizarin Red S sodium can be used for screening of calcium compounds in synovial fluid and detecting osteoblast differentiation, and can also be used for bone staining in mice. Excitation/emission wavelength: 500/570 nm.

Sunset Yellow FCF (Orange Yellow S) is an orange azo dye with a maximum absorption wavelength of 480 nm. Sunset Yellow FCF can be used in food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Coumberone is a metabolic fluorogenic probe, and isoform-selective substrate for all AKR1C isoforms. Coumberone can be reduced by all four members of the AKR1C family to its fluorescent alcohol coumberol. Coumberone can be used for the research of AKR1C.

Sulfidefluor 7-AM is a stable hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) fluorescent probe. Sulfidefluor 7-AM is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.

AF 594 azide (triethylamine) is an azide derivative of the red fluorescent dye AF 594, which has high fluorescence quantum yield and high photostability (maximum absorption wavelength of 586 nm, maximum emission wavelength of 613 nm). AF 594 azide (triethylamine) forms stable adducts by reaction of the azide group with alkynyl derivatives (terminal alkynes and cyclooctyne).
