Isomalathion
Isomalathion is an isomer and impurity of Malathion (HY-B0943). Isomalathion inhibits Carboxyesterase and AChE, with an IC50 value of 3.2 μM against bovine acetylcholinesterase. Isomalathion moderately reduces CYP1A2 transcript levels, increases CYP2B6 transcript levels, and induces dose-dependent DNA damage. Malathion is an organophosphorus insecticide.

In Vitro
Isomalathion (100-500 μM; 24 h) reduces the viability of differentiated HepaRG cells starting at a concentration of 100 μM with a 24 h exposure[1].
Isomalathion potently inhibits free bovine erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase (AChE), with an IC50 of 3.2 μM for its irreversible inhibitory effect[2].
Isomalathion potently inhibits immobilized bovine erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase (AChE), with an IC50 of 2.7 μM, and immobilization does not alter the sensitivity of this enzyme to Isomalathion[2].
Isomalathion (0.05-50 μM; 24 h) induces dose-dependent activation of caspase-3 in differentiated HepaRG cells, and this effect is triggered at a concentration of 5 μM after 24 h of exposure[1].
Isomalathion (0.05-50 μM; 24 h) induces mild reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in differentiated HepaRG cells at the concentration of 50 μM following 24 h of exposure[1].
Isomalathion (0.05-50 μM; 24 h) increases HO-1 mRNA expression levels by twofold in differentiated HepaRG cells. This effect occurs after 24 h of exposure at a concentration of 25 μM, but has no impact on the expression of Nrf2 or MnSOD[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
