Biological Activity
Curcumin monoglucoside (5µM; 24 h) exhibits anti-apoptotic effects in N27 cells by inhibiting the activation of caspase 3 through the prevention of JNK and c-jun phosphorylation[1]. Curcumin monoglucoside (0.25-5µM; 24 h) significantly protects N27 cells from ROT (500 nM; 24 h)-induced neuronal death, demonstrating neuroprotective effects[1].Curcumin monoglucoside exhibits antibacterial activity, with MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) values of 5, 5, and 10 μg/mL respectively against penicillin-sensitive, penicillin-intermediate, and penicillin-resistant strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae[2].
