PP30 is a potent, selective, ATP-competitive mTOR inhibitor with an IC50 of 80 nM. PP30 blocks insulin-stimulated phosphorylation of Akt at residues S473 and T308, preventing the full activation of Akt. PP30 is applicable for cancer research.

PP30 is a selective mTOR active-site inhibitor with an in vitro IC50 value of 80 nM, and it exhibits only extremely weak activity against other members of the PI3K family as well as some protein kinases including PKCα and PKCβ[1].
PP30 (0.04-10 μM; pre-incubated prior to insulin stimulation) inhibits insulin-induced phosphorylation of Akt at the S473 and T308 sites in L6 myotubes, with a stronger inhibitory potency against phosphorylation at the S473 site[1].
