Withanolide B is an active component of W. somnifera Dunal. Withanolide B promotes osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs via ERK1/2 and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways. Withanolide B exhibits neuroprotective, anti-arthritic, anti-aging and anti-cancer effects.

Solanidine is an orally active cholestane alkaloid. Solanidine can be isolated from potato. Solanidine decreases RAD51 and increases γH2AX and p53. Solanidine has anti-tumor effects on LLC tumors and lung cancer. Solanidine promotes breast cancer cell proliferation. Solanidine reduces neovascularization. Solanidine causes abortion in some pregnant mice.

N-trans-feruloyloctopamine is a natural hydroxycinnamic acid amide compound derived from garlic outer skin, possessing tyrosinase inhibition, FGF2 inhibition, anti-melanogenic, and anti-tumor activities. N-trans-feruloyloctopamine inhibits tyrosinase activity and downregulates tyrosinase mRNA and protein expression (IC₅₀ = 5.3 μM), and inhibits melanogenesis in α-MSH-stimulated B16F10 cells. N-trans-feruloyloctopamine inhibits Akt and p38 MAPK phosphorylation, binds to E-cadherin to block EMT, reduces Slug, inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma invasion, and induces hepatocellular carcinoma cell apoptosis. (±)-Dihydroactinidiolide is the dextrorotatory form of Dihydroactinidiolide (HY-107805). (±)-Dihydroactinidiolide has a strong, pleasant musky, tea-like and tobacco-like aroma and is mainly found in black tea, tobacco and fruits. (±)-Dihydroactinidiolide has antioxidant activity and can be derived from β-carotene.or light adaptation in Arabidopsis.

Quinizarin (1,4-Dihydroxyanthraquinone), a part of the anticancer agents such as Doxorubicin, Daunorubicin, and Adriamycin, interacts with DNA by intercalating mode (K_d=86.1 μM). Quinizarin is used as a fungicide and pesticide chemical and has shown the ability to inhibit tumor cell growth.

Δ5-Avenasterol is an antioxidant that targets cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and exists in tomato seed oil, oat grain oil, and wheat germ oil. Δ5-Avenasterol binds to the active site of COX-2, thereby blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to inflammatory prostaglandins.
