EGCG Octaacetate
Based on 2 publication(s) in Google Scholar
EGCG Octaacetate (AcEGCG) is a proagent of Green tea epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). EGCG Octaacetate decreases the proinflammatory mediator levels by down-regulating of PI3K/Akt/NFκB phosphorylation and p65 acetylation. EGCG octaacetate is the potential antibacterial compound for gram-positive bacteria (GPB) and gram-negative bacteria (GNB). EGCG Octaacetate exhibits antioxidant, anti-angiogenesis, anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities.

EGCG Octaacetate generates H2O2, destroys the integrity of bacterial cell membranes, leading to leakage of cell contents and cell death. EGCG Octaacetate inhibits Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Yersinia enterocolitica with MICs of 100 μg/mL, 150 μg/mL, 250 μg/mL and 280 μg/mL, respectively[2].
EGCG Octaacetate (0-40 μM, 24 h) inhibits the growth of esophageal squamous carcinoma cell KYSE150 and colon cancer cell HCT116, reduces NO production and arachidonic acid release in LPS (HY-D1056)-stimulated RAW264.7[4].

Select the appropriate dissolution method based on your experimental animal and administration route.
- For the following dissolution methods, please ensure to first prepare a clear stock solution using an In Vitro approach and then sequentially add co-solvents:
- To ensure reliable experimental results, the clarified stock solution can be appropriately stored based on storage conditions. As for the working solution for In Vivo experiments, it is recommended to prepare freshly and use it on the same day.
- The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
