Deslanoside (Desacetyllanatoside C) is a rapidly acting cardiac glycoside used to treat congestive heart failure and supraventricular arrhythmias due to reentry mechanisms, and to control ventricular rate in the treatment of chronic atrial fibrillation. Deslanoside inhibits the Na-K-ATPase membrane pump, resulting in an increase in intracellular sodium and calcium concentrations .

Taurohyodeoxycholic acid is an orally active 6 alpha-hydroxylated bile acid. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid decreases colonic MPO activity, TNF-α, lL-6 serum levels and the expression of COX-2. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid alleviates trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid induced ulcerative colitis via regulating Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg cells balance. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid ameliorates high-fat diet-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in mice. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid prevents Taurochenodeoxycholic acid (HY-N2027)-induced hepatotoxicity in bile fistula rats. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid can be used for the study of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), colitis and biliary fistula.

Ruscogenin, an important steroid sapogenin derived from Ophiopogon japonicus, attenuates cerebral ischemia-induced blood-brain barrier dysfunction by suppressing TXNIP/NLRP3 inflammasome activation and the MAPK pathway. Ruscogenin exerts significant anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombotic activities. Ruscogenin has orally bioactivity.

Periplocin is a cardiotonic steroid isolated from root-bark Periploca sepium Bunge. Periplocin promotes tumor cell apoptosis and inhibits tumor growth. Periplocin has the potential to facilitate wound healing through the activation of Src/ERK and PI3K/Akt pathways mediated by Na/K-ATPase.

20(S)-Hydroxycholesterol (20α-Hydroxycholesterol) is an allosteric activator that selectively targets the Smoothened (Smo) of the Hedgehog pathway with an EC₅₀ of ~30 μM (Hedgehog). 20(S)-Hydroxycholesterol binds to the extracellular cysteine-rich domain (CRD) of Smo in a stereoselective manner, activating downstream Gli transcription factors (without inducing transcription of receptor genes in the Wnt pathway). 20(S)-Hydroxycholesterol enhances osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow stromal cells and synergistically activates the Raf/MEK/ERK pathway with Simvastatin (HY-17502) to promote bone regeneration. 20(S)-Hydroxycholesterol can be used to study the mechanisms of developmental biology, oncology, bone, and angiogenesis.

Lathosterol is a plant sterol and cholesterol-like molecule. Lathosterol increases antioxidant enzymes (such as SOD, CAT, and GSH) and decreases LDH. Lathosterol has a hepatoprotective effect on mice with acetaminophen (HY-66005)-induced liver injury^[1].

Periplogenin is an orally active cardiac glycoside found in Cortex periplocae. Periplogenin can induce ROS production and necroptosis and cause G0/G1 phase arrest. Periplogenin can inhibit pyroptosis by regulating the NLRP3/Caspase-1/GSDMD signaling. Periplogenin suppresses growth of prostate carcinoma cells by docking to an ATP1A1 protein pocket and forming a hydrogen bond with T804. Periplogenin can be used for the researches of cancer, inflammation and immunology, such as prostate carcinoma, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.

Cholestenone (4-cholesten-3-one) is an orally available antimicrobial agent that is metabolized primarily in the liver as an intermediate oxidation product of cholesterol. Cholestenone inhibits human dermal fibroblast migration and fights Helicobacter pylori infection in vitro and in mouse models by inhibiting cholesterol-α-D-glucopyranoside (CGL). Cholestenone also alleviates metabolic disorders caused by obesity in db/db mice.

3β-Hydroxy-5-cholenoic acid is a steroidal monohydroxy bile acid and serves as a substrate for sulfation reactions. It is applicable to the research of extrahepatic biliary atresia and recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.

Isodeoxycholic acid (7α,12α-Dihydroxycholanoic acid) is a 3β-hydroxylated secondary bile acid. Isodeoxycholic acid is produced by epimerization of deoxycholic acid by intestinal bacteria. Isodeoxycholic acid is detectable in feces, mainly existing as saponifiable conjugates with long-chain fatty acids. Isodeoxycholic acid participates in the regulation of intestinal physiology.
