Description

Acrofolione A is an acetophenone dimer isolated from Acronychia pendunculata with anticancer effects. Acrofolione A induces G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in human NALM-6 pre-B cell leukaemia cells. Acrofolione A can be used for leukaemia research[1].

In Vitro

Acrofolione A (48 h) suppresses the growth of NALM-6, K562 and HPB-ALL cells with IC50 values of 16.7, 17.9, and 10.1 μM, respectively[1].
Acrofolione A (10-20 μM, 6-48 h) induces G0/G1-phase cell cycle arrest and promotes apoptosis in NALM-6 cells, as demonstrated by decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, elevated caspase 3/7 activity, increased levels of cleaved PARP and cleaved caspase-3/7, and reduced expression of survivin protein[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
