Dracorhodin is a natural product that can be obtained from the natural active molecule Dragon's blood. Dracorhodin inhibits PI3K/Akt and NF-κB activation, upregulates p53 expression, activates caspase, produces ROS, and promotes Apoptosis. Dracorhodin regulates the TLR4. Dracorhodin promotes wound healing, improves diabetes. Dracorhodin has anti-tumor activity against prostate cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer and other cancers.

In Vitro
Dracorhodin (0-80 μM; 12-48 h) inhibits the growth of human cervical cancer HeLa cells, human malignant melanoma A375-S2 cells, human breast cancer MCF-7 cells and human histiocytic lymphoma U937 cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner[1].
Dracorhodin (0-200 μM; 48 h) inhibits the growth of human gastric adenocarcinoma SGC-7901 cells in a dose-dependent manner[2].
Dracorhodin (0.625-40 μg/mL; 24 h) promotes the proliferation of NIH/3T3 fibroblasts at concentrations of 0.625-10 μg/mL and inhibits proliferation at concentrations >20 μg/mL[3].
Dracorhodin (10-80 μM；12-48 h) inhibits the growth of human prostate cancer PC-3 cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner, with an IC50 of 40.18 μM at 24 h[4].
Dracorhodin (40-150 μM; 12-48 h) inhibits the growth of MCF-7 cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner[5].
Dracorhodin (10 μg/mL; 3-9 h) upregulates Pdx1 expression in INS-1 cells[7].

In Vivo
Dracorhodin (200 μg/mL; topical application) promotes skin wound healing, collagen deposition, and microvascular formation in diabetic rats by regulating the TLR4 pathway and related inflammatory factors[6].
Dracorhodin (5-20 mg/kg; i.p.; every other day; 30 d) lowers blood glucose, raises insulin levels, enhances Pdx1 expression, increases islet size and number, and shows protective effects on islets and β-cells in diabetic mice[7].
